Check out the external check samples at http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/addons.asp for the SMTP2POP3 check, which basically sends a message via SMTP then checks to make sure it arrived via POP3. That would address the issue, I bet.

We had a situation last week where our server crashed, came up with corrupt data store and the store would not load. The SMTP side still answered the call from SA, giving an UP which it should have. Thanks for any ideas for better monitoring. I don't expect this to happen often :-) Cheers Barry To unsubscribe from a list, send a mail message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] With the following in the body of the message: unsubscribe SAlive To unsubscribe from a list, send a mail message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] With the following in the body of the message: unsubscribe SAlive
