What happens in a log situation when a string appears because of some problem, and then the problem is corrected?  The string is still in the file.  Will your program still flag it?

I have developed a program that checks a file for the existence of a string and/or a string that should NOT exist. The program returns an errorlevel depending of the result.

If you would like a copy, mail me direct.

Are there any 3rd party external checks that you are aware of?

Thanks again.

yes and no.

yes by using an external check (that needs to be written)

no not with a built-in check.

(or it should be able to access the logfile via a URL)

Does SA have the ability to monitor a logfile and generate an alert if it encounters a particular string (error 589, for example)?

Thanks for the info.
