Dirk,

Ok, thanks for the info, this is a pity as it would be a useful feature as many of our tech guys have MSN on their mobiles which is a bit more flexible than SMS.  I have checked and there is no way we can compromise security and open up the firewall for MSN so I guess we'll have to wait until a version of SA supports MSN over a proxy.

Are their any plug-ins you know of that might enable us to do this in any other way?

Darrell.

With only support direct MSN sending, not via a proxy.  And we do not plan on adding it in the near future.

Dirk,

I've upgraded to this but as I expected it has made no difference.

The issue must be the Proxy settings as I did a few tests and MSN is blocked from direct outside access unless going via Proxy.  Is there no way around this? I suspect this will be the issue within most large companies regarding MSN due to the security issue.  The default to was set in the setup but I had over-ridden this within my checks anyway so the addresses were correct.

Update to 4.0.1308 and retest.

With only have MSN via a direct connection, not via a proxy.

It's the DEFAULT TO in the MSN SETUP.

Hi Dirk,

SA Version 4.0.1302

In default setup a username and password have been specified and it is ticked as enabled, I have checked these directly through messenger and they work ok

Which default timeout, do you mean? I assume the one on the alerts page which in this case is a PING and is set to 5, can't find any time out values on the MSN setup page

If MSN requires a Proxy, is this picked up from the settings within SA's proxy settings page? Assumed it was so these have been set too for proxy and port required by MSN.

What exact version of SA are you using?

In the setup, did you specify a username and password for the MSN connection?

Did you specify a default TO?

Dirk,

Have upgraded to V4 and everything seems to be working fine expect I'm having some issues with MSN,  I'm getting the message in the log message failed, there was an error connecting. State: 0

I've checked all the obvious settings but can't find anything wrong.  I can also log into MSN manually from this terminal and send a message with no problem - any ideas?

Thanks and regards,

Darrell Etherington
