I tested it again, ans saw what i really wanted to ask :-) if i hit 'exit' on the gui, the window closes, and the icon stays (so far so good). but when I click 'close' on the icon, the service stops. My idea is, that if i'm running a service, the only way to stop it, is through the 'services panel'. Can't you make an option, so that the 'close' button can be disabled ? (my boss likes to stop programs that he doesn't know you see :-)

I can see the gui, but I can 'exit' the GUI. The service keeps running but the GUI is gone... are the checks still being performed after exiting the gui or not ? If you need the see the gui while running as service make sure you use the sysem account with desktop interaction. dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Lambrecht Pieter Sent: Fri Feb 21 5:08 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [SA-list] SAlive as Service Hi, Just wondering... When i installe SAlive as service, do I still need to start the gui ? or does the service handle all the checking, and is the gui only for visual purpose ? P. Pieter Lambrecht ICORDA N.V.
