Hi,
I was getting the same problem, so I played around with it. It turns out that the Audio feature has a "main switch" that needs to be turned on in the setup.
1. on the main screen click on the setup button
2. Select Alerts > Audio >
3. Check the "Enable Audio"
4. Select a wav file
5. Press Apply
6. Press Test
It should work.....

I can't seem to get an audio alert to work, not even beep.
I am using the trial version.
