I received the following generic error warning “error getting the service information from 192.168.1.11 (5- 0-)” and thought I had a problem with my installation. When I was setting it up, I was able to get the service information. Turns out the error comes from running as local system account (service) now and therefore do not have the rights to access the service list on the server whereas when I was setting it up I was not yet running the service . I now know that all I had to do before I tried to list the processes was enter the authentication info first, but it took me a day to figure it out. (Not that that was the only thing I was working on) But if the error was changed to “Error getting service information form 192.168.1.11: You may not have permission to access these resources” or something to that effect I would have known right away what the problem was not reinstalled the product and such.
