That's perfect, found it for $150 and picked one up.  I'd been looking around for the same thing but didn't find anything that cheap.  Not bad for including humidity also.

Niles...this may be off the subject...because I don't know if you can make this interface with SA...but this sensor will alert with it's own software to a cell phone or email....worth looking into, and not that expensive...USB compatible

Most newer HVAC systems provide SNMP compatible interfaces. 
Might check and see if your have the capability as SA is SNMP friendly.

Anyone using a USB or com port temp monitoring device with s-alive.  We finally got a dedicated, off the main HVAC grid, air conditioner in the server room and I'd like to know if the temp is going up.
