Title: Problematic WAN checks

We're using SA 4.1.1609.

We have a number of troublesome WAN links and I was hoping I could get some guidance on the best way to setup the checks.

For one check we currently have a ping check that send 4 frames with 50% timeout response. The time out is set to 16 seconds. Now if I've got this right this means that each individual ping has a timeout of 4 secs?!?

For the alert we have an email sent when the check returns a DOWN condition on the second cycle, then every cycle after that, and stopping after two cycles. This results in a single email alert being sent out if the check is down after two cycles.

The problem we have is that these WAN links are very problematic and often they are registering as down even though they're not.

I'm open to any suggestions on how we can setup the checks better to avoid the numerous spurious alerts that are currently being generated.

Thanks
