Or put the path to the SQL client libs files within the "path" of the user
Put'em into the path of the system (different properties/env vars for user and system possible) and it should work.
running the service.

Hmmm. That is what I was thinking may be happening. Now the question is,
is there a way around this? I would really like to run SA as a service.
Thanks

Thanks for the info...or should I see this as a question?
At the start of SA, SA will check if the sql client libs are available or
not. And if they are not the option will be greyed out. I suppose that the
service user has no access to the sql client libs. (SA 'asks' the OS to
load the sql client libs and if the OS says 'no way Jos' then we grey-out
the option to say that you can't use that option).

I am unable to use SQL Server check when I am running SA as a service, they
work fine as an while running as an application. The option is greyed out.
Thanks
