Hi,

I am using SA to execute batch files on certain alerts no problem. Didn't even have to fiddle around to get it working. Just made the batch file, added a check, added an alert to execute command, inserted path to batch file and "Bob's your uncle!". Have tested this on WinXP SP1a, WinXP SP2 & Win2K3 Serv. Admittedly, I am still running SA as an app, haven't tried it as a service yet.

Can't understand why you guys are struggling so much?

1. The 429 error shouldn't occur, regardless of the alert commands.

2. Command Alert does NOT work if using batch files.

Not sure what else you can think of, but I have tried numerous things and it won't work.  Notepad.exe and calc.exe work, but batch files do not.

The commands alert is working and does not use any control so the 429 isn't related to this.

Greg,

I reported the same thing, was advised of the same things, and it still isn't resolved.  I get the 429 error and several errors in my logs.  The program itself appears to work okay though (Command Alerts don't work right however).

Installed directly (no TS used here typically)
and rebooted... on some of these machines they've been rebooted numerous times and are still doing it

Did you reboot the system?
Did you install directly or via a TS session?

Dirk.

[SA-list] Problem on new installs

This is typically happening on NT boxes...

I've installed the latest and greatest SA release and latest EventLog COM check...  on the NT boxes I get this box at startup of SA

ActiveX object can't be created ( 429)

Any ideas?

thanks

Greg
