We had lots of problems with the modem in SA
when we first set it up, and did the following things to troubleshoot the
problem:
1. We had the phone line tested for
line noise.
2. We set the modem to stop checking that
the line was available before using (in Windows).
3. We set in SA to use TAPI not the direct
COM port.
Now the modem has gone from working less
than 30% of the time to around 90% success. We still have incidents where
it won't dial out when it is down but these are a lot less
frequent.
Hope this helps.
Steve
