Title: RE: [SA-list] Can only be authenticated via IP only
ping doesn't use the NT/Win2x security.

The 1219 is because there is already an active connection.

A little theory:
IF from system_1, user_1 has an active connection to system_2, then user_2 can't have an active connection from system_1 to system_2
=> that's an OS limit not a Servers Alive limit.
And in your cases the OS seeing this connection through the hostname and not through the IP, that's why you're getting the error.

Dirk.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I can ping via hostname in SA but not the rest of the checks like hard disk space, service, processes etc.

Suggest you can do a ping hostname and see what your system (which host
SAlive) resolved it to.
Perhaps your system still "remember" the old ip.

This could due to system internal cache or the static entry in your system local host file.

Hi,

I have this little problem.

In the past, we use IP as the hostname to do the checks. Recently, all our servers has changed their IP address and I have decided to use hostname to do the checks. All the checks went well with all servers with the exception of one.

If I use IP to do the test, it works fine. If I use hostname to do the check, it says authentication error, with error 1219 appearing in the log.

Can someone tell me what's wrong?

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Wei Yu
