It does not happen on all check cycles. If I stop and start SA, that HTTP check will function normally for many check cycles. It will then give the "Out of Stack Space" error after a while. This error happens just once, then the check is normal for several more check cycles before it crashes (20-50 cycles later, on average). To clarify another issue - I don't think that SA considers the check to be "DOWN" after this error. I have it set to e-mail me when a check goes "DOWN", but I don't get an e-mail after a stack space error. Sorry for the confusion. ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of Dirk Bulinckx Sent: Tue 4/26/2005 12:54 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [SA-list] Out of Stack Space That doesn't answer the question. If you stop SA and restart SA and have it do 1 check cycle will it give a DOWN with OUT OF STACK SPACE or will it only give the down (with out of stack space) after a while? Dirk. More details: I have two identical SA setups running. One is doing all of my HTTP checks, the other is doing the same, minus the erroneous (out of stack space) check - I put it on maintenance. I'm still in preliminary testing of this error, but these seem to be true so far: 1) Within an hour of seeing the "out of stack space" error on that URL, SA will crash. An hour is the longest so far, typically it crashes within 10-15 minutes after the error. 2) The setup of SA with the offending HTTP check on maintenance has stayed running much longer than the other setup so far today. Granted, it's only been four hours, so we'll see how my setup fares over the next couple days. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for your help. I think we'll get this figured out sooner or later. :) ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of Dirk Bulinckx Sent: Tue 4/26/2005 11:43 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [SA-list] Out of Stack Space Does it do this all the time for this URL or only sometimes? Is this an error that SA is returning, or is SA just passing along this error from the web server I'm checking? Just wondering if anybody else has seen it, or if it might have something to do with my crashing problem. Thanks, Eric
