Thanks for the response however as it was a new install with only a few
rules I reformatted the HDD, reinstalled the O/S and the reinstalled SA,
I've had no problems since.

What version of SA are we talking about?
What type of entry (check) are you trying to add? When exactly does it do
this? Does it do it with all type of checks or just with one type?
