Just a thought, but given that this is all Proliant kit and that each of these events is reportable in Insight Manager, you could see if SNMP checks give you more defined results than event log checks. Ignore if already covered here...
 
You could of course use Insight Manager instead, but then it's not as flexible as S'Alive : ).

Here's the deal..  I want to monitor every HP Proliant server we have for the following:
 
1.  Failed hard drives
2.  Hard drives in recovery mode (after someone plugs in a new hot swap drive to fix #1 from above)
3.  Hard drive recovery complete
4.  Power Supply failure
5.  Power Supply recovery
 
The other day, a power supply failed in a server when SA was NOT running......   SA was then restarted.   Four hours later, a new power supply was delivered and installed in the server.  SA never picked up the event log message..  I was monitoring for Event ID: 1118  Informational with a description of "returned to the OK state".
