Title: Servers Alive Polling speed
Multi threading sounds great, i am in particular polling disk space, cpu and memory

We're working on multi-threading....currently what we can do is multithread the COM checks and the URL checks (that is if no other checks depend on it)...in the release version (next release that is) more check type will be threaded in the same way.

For the RRD what you should do is within the CREATE command (-s parameter) use as interval the time an average cycles takes + the interval time.
The interval time (15 minutes in your example) IS the time between the end of cycle N and the start of cycle N+1, that how it was made.

Trying to improve the polling speed as I am diong around 1000 checks. The delay seems to be in the responses to the pools as many of the servers are on WAN links.

Has anyone found a way to speed it up. Dirk could the poller piece be multithreaded, i.e. Poll more than one device at a time?.

The problem is further compounded as I am trying to graph the results via RRD and do not get a consistent poll time. Looks like if you set the polling period for say, 15 min, the polling is done and then SA waits 15 mins before starting another set of polls? Rather than starting the timer at the beginning of the previous poll sequence?

Thanks

Dave
