I use SAlive 4.1, and I'm confused about something. I have a SQL 2000 server that sometimes gets bogged down - CPU utilization of the SQLServer process shoots up over 90% for minutes at a time (therefore slowing everyone else down). I'd like to monitor the CPU percentage of just this one service, and to be alerted if it stays over 90% for more than a few seconds. From the manual, it looks like I need to be checking for an NT PerfMon counter. But I don't know which one, and am not having much luck in searching the information out.
Can anyone provide some pointers for monitoring the CPU percentage of an specific NT process? I'd like to be mailed when it happens again. If someone knows how I can list the specific SQL connection that's hogging all the CPU, so much the better. :-) Thanks -- ------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Leone, Systems Administrator Philadelphia Contributionship 210 S. 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> V: 215-627-1752 x1282 F: 215-627-5354 To unsubscribe from a list, send a mail message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] With the following in the body of the message: unsubscribe SAlive
