The CLIENT does NOT use the Oracle OLE/Windows libs.
Do a CUSTOM install of the client and add the OLE/Windows libs/objects.

You need the Oracle OLE or Oracle Windows objects, without those you can't
do an Oracle check.

Trying to test Oracle database and get the error message "cant create oracle
object"

When connecting with SQLPlus the connection string is SYS/[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have used the username SYS, password and database details as per an
sqlplus type connection

Is this a logon problem?, is there any debug that can be turned on (and how)
to locate the problem

Thanks
