In the log I don't see any errors, so I don't understand where you see/get the error you mentioned already before.

Hi,
I enabled these flags.
and was able to verify that part of the html page being checked in the http check was received.

** Connecting to www.rowanclose.no-ip.com on port 80
** Requesting URL http://www.rowanclose.no-ip.com/rowanclose/index.html
GET /rowanclose/index.html HTTP/1.0
Host: www.rowanclose.no-ip.com
Pragma: no-cache
Accept-Language: en-us
User-Agent: Woodstone Servers Alive URL check
Accept: */*

there is no indication in the hrml loging file of what processinng servers alive did with this info and no connection reset indication.

from the main log file we do not get any indication of the connection being reset.

How can we work out whre servers alive is gettinhg the info of connection reset.
upting timeout to greater then 300ms does not seam to work,

how the log file does indicate for certain runs of the url checking
  21 July 2006 18:49:43 RowanClose -url check -- no-ip.com
21 July 2006 18:49:44 URL check took 231 ms
21 July 2006 18:49:44 RowanClose -url check -- hopto.org
21 July 2006 18:49:45 URL check took 561 ms

right click on html check gives possible down.

connections to webserver running on the same box as salive are via a lynksys wireless router.
other  pc connecting wirlessly to the router can acess the webite without any problems, using the www.rowanclose.no-ip.com or www.rowanclose.hopto.org URL

Any suggestions on how to proceed with further investigation of this problem ?

thanks
Robert Fernando

From the doc:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DBU Consulting\Servers

Alive\StartUp\logHTTP (dword)

You can log all communication during an HTTP/HTTPS check to a file so

that you can debug the process. Enter a value of 1 in the registry entry to

enable this feature.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DBU Consulting\Servers

Alive\StartUp\logHTTPFIle (string)

You can log all communication during an HTTP/HTTPS check to a file so

that you can debug the process. Enter the path and name of the file log.
