Title: HTTP check with strange characters
The problem is that the TAB char is a delimiter within the entries file, that's why after a reload of the entries (from the entries file) it will loose that.  Probably other parts are then badly loaded too.

In v5.x you can't enter special chars (except for dates) in the "text to find" part of the HTTP check.  In the current pre-beta it's possbile.

The CONTAINS (not contains..) of the URL can now also check for info that is spread on several lines and this by using "hex" code within the search string. {0xab} were ab is the hex representation of the character. {0x0a} will be replace by character(10) (also known as LINE FEED or LF)

Subject: [SA-list] HTTP check with strange characters

I am working on setting up an HTTP check to look for text within a web page. I have been looking for an exact phrase which has a tab and a carriage return in the middle of the string. If I set up the check and copy the content into the field, it runs well, gets the page and reports that the content is OK. If I shut down Servers Alive and reopen it, the field is truncated and only shows the text prior to the tab. The tab, the carriage return, and the text afterwards have all disappeared.

Has anyone else checked for an exact phrase which contains a tab and/or a CR in the string? Any suggestions?

Ian
