Subject: [SA-list] OT: Server hardware database

An off topic question: can anyone recommend a good bit of software for hardware
management? I want a database that I can store information about my hardware
(I'm thinking primarily of servers, but other network equipment would come in
too) such as make/model, where it is, what it's used for etc. One of the
critical things is that I want it to store warranty information, and (ideally)
email out an alert when the warranty is about to expire. Any ideas? I know I
could write such a db using Access or whatever, but I'm no db expert, and if I
ask my software development team to write something it will be months of
wrangling just to get it on their agenda... I can't help but feel there must be
a good bit of shareware out there to do the job I want to do.

Cheers,

Ian
