What type of alert are you using? 
 
If you would have the     
    %a 
parameter in the alert, then you would see the reason for the down too.

We have several alerts for a file check.  When several files (10) are listed in 
a folder, it should send us an alert.  We’re getting numerous false 
positives and I’m not sure why.  What’s the best way to diagnose 
something like this?



Additionally, when we get a text for this alert, it comes in two messages?  It 
appears that additional information (Woodstone …etc) is added to the 
text.  Here is what is supposed to be sent:  

 

“%p is %s  

 

The number of HCP files has exceeded 30!” 

 

Any clues to what’s going on would be greatly appreciated.
