They are stored in the directory that is "defined" by the user….

Perhaps log files should be stored in a separate folder, and then any files
older than x in that folder would be deleted? Crude but effective...

Any idea how MS do it?

and how would SA then recognize logs?
Should it check for all files in the directory and see if they fit (from a name
point of view) the logfiles of SA? That could mean something time-consuming
(although only once a day to be done ofcourse).

I would like the option as well. I could write a command line script to do it
but SAlive is sooooo smart that it would be nice to have the OPTION to remove
log files.

I should of course have used the word "option" - I'd agree that by default
software shouldn't delete its own logs, but to have this as an option
(especially where the software is generating logfiles of 30Mb plus!) would be
really useful.

Personally I have a problem with that.
I don't think that a software should delete its own log files.

Would it be possible to limit (in the same way that you can in MS ISA server)
the number of log files that exist? i.e. if set to daily log files and a max of
30, SA would delete any log files over a month old.
