There is currently NO progress on the implementation of that. We're currently
focusing on the db-backend combined with the splitting of the
checking/alerting/GUI part. (those are work-in-progress ON PAPER).

The only way I can see to prevent timeout issues would be to increase the
timeout

Subject: [SA-list] Timeout errors

Dirk (or anyone else who might have experienced the problem),

I know this isn't a new topic, but just in case any progress has been made...

One of the great banes of my life (at least when it comes to monitoring...) is
timeout errors. We regularly get timeout errors from the MySQL external COM
check, and the beta Notes check times out at least once or twice a day. My
alerts are now configured to not go out if extra info includes "timeout", but
that doesn't prevent the error displaying on screen.

Is there any way to fix the problem of checks timing out (I appreciate this is
probably not an SA problem as such)? Alternatively, following the discussions
we had some time ago about additional status levels including one for timeouts,
is there any progress with implementing that?

Cheers,

Ian
