This will work for small lists, but it is tedious: 

Click on the check you want FIRST, and right-click and choose Last in 
(sub)list/group. Repeat for the second, then third, etc until you have gone 
through all of them. Essentially a bubble sort. 

Repeat for each subgroup. You can probably skip a step by using First in 
(sub)list/group somewhere.
