I understand that it only works on the local system. I meant a remote
installation of Servers Alive checking a consumer version of Symantec. We
are working on a project that involves installing a vending machine (with a
computer embedded) inside of someone else's network. I want to be sure that
there is Virus scan and that it is functioning (i.e. updating, process running,
etc). I will purchase the consumer Norton and install it. If we have issues
with the check I will work with you to get it working. Thanks.

AV check can only check if the AV is "up-to-date" on the system running
Servers Alive, not on a remote system.

I "think" it can also check for the consumer version and for the corporate
version. If it can't then probably it's something we can add, with some help
:-)

Subject: [SA-list] AV check

I am looking at monitoring a remote pc to be sure that the anti-virus is up to
date. I just wanted to find out if the AV check worked with both consumer and
corporate versions of the listed software or if it only works with the
corporate version. I am particularly concerned with Norton/Symantec.
