We have 4 Systems administrators who may need to also have access to view
Servers Alive Console. Right now I have it running as a service and when
someone wants access to it the Remote Desktop to the server and it kicks off
the current systems administrator.

Thank You,

You may want to consider using a remote agent for monitoring the servers in
your DMZ that way you do not have to open NetBios.

Subject: [SA-list] "HELP" Ports to open for services monitoring

I want to monitor several Windows services on a couple of server in the DMZ.
What ports do I need to open for Servers alive v6.2 to be able to accomplish
this. Currently, the service window hangs and I receive an unreachable error.
Is it just NetBIOS Name Service 137/TCP,UDP and DNS 53/TCP,UDP. I do not see
any documentation in the manual.

Also, I have Servers Alive v6.2 STD edition. Does the Enterprise edition allow
multiple users to be logged on at the same time? What other benefits do I get?
I saw the comparison on the web site but I thought I would ask.

Does the enterprise edition install a database or do I have to use something
like Microsoft’s free MSDE 2005.

Thank You,
