I'll post what our "example" was:

Example:
               entry_1               host_1                 ping host_1
(uid 1)
               entry_2               host_2                 ping host_2
(uid 2)
               entry_3               host_3                 ping host_3
(uid 3)

               entry_4 router_1 check SSH port (uid
4)
               entry_5 router_2 check SSH port (uid
5)

You want to get an ALERT if
                              you can't ping host_1 and router_1 is down
OR you can ping (host_2 or host_3) and router_2 is down

You create a new entry
              whateverhostname_as_we_dont_use_it           checktype COMBINED
CHECK
                               ([1]=down and [4]=down) or (([2]=down or
[3]=down) and [5]=down)
               -> this would give an UP if the expression gives a TRUE, as you
want to get a DOWN you change the expression to:
                              NOT  ([1]=down and [4]=down) or (([2]=down or
[3]=down) and [5]=down)

Subject: [SA-list] RE Combined/Complex check (How to available?)

Good morning!

I have been searching through the documentation and the web site for some
guidance regarding using the above check but can't find anything. Would it be
possible to post an example of how this check is used?

Thanks and Regards
