@Barry,

Your right about the remark on response. Most colleague’s don’t
have the or don’t want to put more effort in this.

I know how I was struggling with some things and was glad that somebody did
share something.

If possible I share things that can make the job easy.

@Anthony,

1. Strange that you have red table listed but no link...., is there just
above the red table a link to TOP?

I’m using the same <saif sa_status is DOWN> to display the red background
and the links.

No strange letters in the check name?

2. Graphics are made by the RRDTool……. Just displaying the
content of the graph dirs. As setup in SA.

I’m preparing a document on how I setup my RRD environment with SA.
Makes it a lot easier for most others to implement this.

Will post it here if ready.

I’ll be honest I do not have the skill or understanding on creating the
templates, maybe if I dedicated a few hours to reading I might be able to come
up with something. J

However I have two questions for Lau. – and thank you for sharing this!!

1. I currently have a down entry, but the link isn’t populating at
the top of the page as shown in your screenshot. The text line says
“ServersAlive did 104 checks for this page and found 0 systems down.
“ but if you scroll through all the entry you see the one highlighted in
red.

2. Was your zip to include the image files for the graphing? Or is that
RRDTools? On the check pages I am getting broken links for the uptime graphs.

Thank you again!!

Lau,

Thank you very much for sharing your template. Templates are a great extensible
feature of SA. I created a ‘very’ basic one for Dirk years ago to
host on his site as an example (hopefully it’s gone!). Over the past 10
or so years I’ve used SA some, like you have been kind enough to share.
But a call like this one usually meets with little feedback from the community.

I’m not sure why, but think that most Admin deploying SA either lack the
time and/or skill set to share templates they are proud of?

Hopefully your message here elicits more response this time around!

Thanks again for sharing.

Barry

Hi,

I’ve upgrade to Servers Alive version: 7 Enterprise and started using the
RRD graphics.

I’ve studied the tutorial on how to setup a decent page to display the
graphics and searched the mailinglist/internet for an example.

Nothing much to find.

So I created a template that will display the way I want it to be.

I use IIS on my w2K system to display the result page.

Still I’m curious on how other users solved their web page templates.

If you want to share, you’re welcome to put a link in this treat to your
template.

This way we can create a collection of template’s to help each other.

Greetings,

Lau
