So both are failing?
If you look in the remote eventlog does it show the user you configured for the
check

In v8 you can use different type of authentication for a service check, did you

I know this is one of the most basic checks SA can do, and I've done this
hundreds of time. But I am getting an authentication error when trying to
connect to the NT Services of a server that is not joined to our domain. It's
not joined to any domain for that matter. It was setup by a 3rd party, but what
am I doing wrong?
"Error getting the service information from 192.168.20.30 (5- 0-)   Access
is denied."

I am doing:  Check Tab, Check to use: NT Service, enter the NT user/pass,
then hit the ... by the check "service"  and I get the above error.  I
have tried   servername\username; .\username; username .  I even created
a new local administrator account to make sure I was using the right password
(even though I was RDP into the server already).

Thank you,
Anthony Laatz
