vxdmp will work fine to give you multipathing and vxvm will work fine  
in a non-shared configuration .. there's a problem we've seen with  
race conditions using CVM in a shared volume management configuration  
with VCS or SunCluster .. additionally you've got extra overhead here  
as the volume management will flow back to a single node .. for SVM/ 
Oban/SunCluster configurations for Oracle RAC there's a little bit of  
extra code to deal with dmr and abr that doesn't exist in CVM

for VCS - we have scripted agents in the field for simple failover  
(samsharefs -s <new_server>), but these are mostly unsupported
