I'm not a fan of "all in one" IDEs - so I've never tried Tommy Gun either.
I use Starbase (Borland's) CodeWright 6.5 as my editor. 6.5 is quite old
these days, but if you can get a copy (it sometimes pops up on eBay) it is
well recommended.
With CodeWrite (which will integrate with any compiler and/or assembler) I
use Andrew's excellent PyZ80 assembler. PyZ80 will write your object code
(auto-running if required) directly to a .DSK file which you can then throw
right at SimCoupé. I haveCodeWrite set up so that one click will assemble
my code and auto-open SimCoupé with the resulting .DSK. Literally a second
after clicking "make" I have SimCoupé open with my code running.
Development environments tend to be a personal thing though, so you might
hate CodeWrite, yet love writing in Notepad! ;)
The easiest thing is to try a few, or set up a customised one of your own
with your choice of editor, assembler and so on.
Chris.
