Title: Iraqi Paper Urges Arabs to 'Kill' US Soldiers Stationed in Arab Countries Baghdad Al-Iraq (Internet Version-WWW) in Arabic December 11, 2002 Subslug: Editorial: "Bases of Aggression" [FBIS Translated Text] Every country is sovereign. Every home is inviolable. Whoever willingly allows foreign bases to be set up on his national soil is like someone who brings a foreigner to live among his family members, not differentiating between what is permissible and what is impermissible. This applies to a whole country when its officials renounce their national options, abandon their principles, and ignore taboos. We do not want to say something that everyone knows. But recollection might help. Foreign bases in any country are flagrant military occupation of land, sea, and airspace, exploitation of national wealth, outright violation of sovereignty, and enslavement of people. What for is all this taking place? Is it not for protecting thrones, safeguarding chairs, and boasting about the strength of the foreign invader to terrorize others? We feel sad and pain when we see foreign bases occupy one third of this or that country, that a certain area has become an exclusion zone, and that the locals are prohibited from approaching a certain part of the homeland. Not only that, farms have been abandoned, many families have been forced to leave them, and young and old people have left their childhood playgrounds to faraway places, because US soldiers want this. In one place military exercises code-named "Might against Might" are taking place. In another place US soldiers are riding their tanks on a military mission code-named "Internal Look." All this is in preparation for an aggression on a generous neighbor. The officials of these countries have forgotten this neighbor's noble stands. They have also forgotten that this neighbor's sturdy men are defending them and are warding off dangers coming from abroad. The experiences of collaborating with the foreigners are many; no one can forget them. Everybody knows that the Americans have always used their servants like paper napkins, which they then throw into the wastebasket after their mission ends. Whoever is big in the eyes of the masters will one day find himself a dead merchandise thrown on the roadside. History and the people will pass their judgment. Is it not enough that US forces are occupying this and that country? Must they also occupy neighboring countries? Must the whole region be under the control of the Americans, in line with the saying, "nobody is better than anybody?" Must everybody acquiesce to the demands of the Americans and comply with their wishes? Whoever is not afraid for his people and does not respect the sovereignty of his country is a custodian of a foreign base, even if foreign armies do not occupy his country. How then if the American tyrants roam the golden sands of the desert and enjoy the beauty of the scene and their new experience, the cost of which is paid in advance from the pockets of the homeland and people. We in Iraq and in the whole nation believe that it is the right and honorable duty of every Arab believer to resist the occupying US forces in their bases and to kill their damn personnel. Whoever is killed while resisting the occupying US forces is a glorious, noble, and honorable martyr. Despicable is anyone who harbors evil intentions against us.
