Hello,
I found a problem after installation of SAMBA-2.0.3 on a VAX where several groups of
users share the sames UIC.
In the best case, only one user per UIC can connect to Samba (it looks like that the
UIC identifier might be egal to the
username). All other users are rejected with the following error :

[2002/11/05 14:11:13, 0] DSA1:[KITS.SAMBA-2_0_3.SOURCE.SMBD]UID.C;1:(67)
Couldn't set effective uid to 9044133. Currently set to (real=0,eff=0). Error was
record not found
[2002/11/05 14:11:13, 0] DSA1:[KITS.SAMBA-2_0_3.SOURCE.SMBD]UID.C;1:(71)
Could be your OS doesn't like high uid values - try using a different account
[2002/11/05 14:11:13, 0] DSA1:[KITS.SAMBA-2_0_3.SOURCE.SMBD]SERVICE.C;1:(425)
  Can't become connected user!

In this example, the value 9044133 corresponds to UIC = [212,245]. The problem is
that the sysuaf database
does not effectively have an identifier with a value of [212,245] and a name egal to
the username.
This was not a problem with PathWorks but how can I deal with that in Samba ?

Thank you, Georges
