Are you sure (ie did you try) or do you just think so? The new spec file (in 2.2.4, not in 2.2.3a) now has provides tags for samba-client,samba-common etc, so it shouldn't need --nodeps. If it does still, please post a mail back to the list so someone can take care of it ...
