Hello, I've been experiencing extreme network slowdown and latency doing things as simple as playing an MP3 or copying files across a network. The traffic is between an OpenBSD 3.0 and Samba 2.2.3a box and a Windows 2000 machine.
Linksys BEFSR41 router/switch 3Com EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI TX NIC (3C905B-TX) in the Windows machine D-Link Systems 530TX+ in the OpenBSD box Machines are set 100 half duplex and I have the following options in my smb.conf: socket options = TCP_NODELAY socket options = SO_SNDBUF=8192 socket options = SO_RCVBUF=8192 I am getting LOTS of collisions - is there something I can tweak in the smb.conf or perhaps the window sizes/mtu to get better performance? Cables are top-notch too. Thanks a lot!!
