Ah, thanks, with a quick test; [darryl@cascade darryl]$ sudo hdparm -t /dev/hda2 /dev/hda2: Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 2.61 seconds = 24.52 MB/sec [darryl@cascade darryl]$ sudo hdparm -t /dev/hda1 /dev/hda1: Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 3.01 seconds = 21.26 MB/sec [darryl@cascade darryl]$ sudo hdparm -t /dev/sda6 /dev/sda6: Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 14.77 seconds = 4.33 MB/sec [darryl@cascade darryl]$ sudo hdparm -t /dev/sda5 /dev/sda5: Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 10.50 seconds = 6.10 MB/sec Looks like he SCSI drive is a little slow !!!!
