Hi I missed the begining of this thread and I don't know some datail but,
once I have a problem like that, using xcopy in a DOS window (windows 95/98). It missed some files. To fix it I had to change the DOS Window configuration so that MS-DOS programs do not detect windows. I don“t know how it is done in ME but in W98 is like bellow: DOS Prompt --> Properts --> Program --> Advanced > Do not allow MS-DOS programs detect windows. Hope this helps Roberto At 17:48 29/10/2002, William Jojo wrote: >moved back to 2.2.5 and the messages regarding "Failed to claim >session" are gone.... > >this one server has the greatest load as 500+ workstations are constantly >logging on and off every hour. our lighter servers are not exhibiting this >problem under 2.2.6, so I have not downgraded them. > >we are running AIX 5.1.0-02 and clients are WinXP Pro (no sp1). > > >Bill > >On Tue, 29 Oct 2002, William Jojo wrote: > >> >> >> got this in my log level 1 when people started reporting profiles randomly >> not loading and 98 machines reported strange errors, shares aren't >> mapping, people can't print....it's a nightmare over here.... >> >> this seems to affect all versions of windows regardless of SP's. >> >> log snippet: >> >> [2002/10/29 09:58:33, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(677) >> ct10164 (151.103.27.118) closed connection to service dh354638 >> [2002/10/29 09:58:33, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(636) >> ct10164 (151.103.27.118) connect to service netlogon as user dh354638 >> (uid=129 >> 81, gid=206) (pid 410710) >> [2002/10/29 09:58:33, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(636) >> mr00265 (151.103.23.7) connect to service yr317441 as user yr317441 >> (uid=21730 >> , gid=206) (pid 254944) >> [2002/10/29 09:58:33, 1] smbd/session.c:session_claim(88) >> session_claim: out of session IDs (max is 3000) >> [2002/10/29 09:58:33, 1] smbd/password.c:register_vuid(345) >> Failed to claim session for vuid=103 >> >> >> and.... >> >> >> [2002/10/29 10:01:10, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(636) >> mr00243 (151.103.22.239) connect to service lp as user nm368238 >> (uid=9209, gid >> =206) (pid 356236) >> [2002/10/29 10:01:10, 1] smbd/session.c:session_claim(88) >> session_claim: out of session IDs (max is 3000) >> [2002/10/29 10:01:10, 1] smbd/password.c:register_vuid(345) >> Failed to claim session for vuid=115 >> [2002/10/29 10:01:12, 1] smbd/session.c:session_claim(88) >> session_claim: out of session IDs (max is 3000) >> [2002/10/29 10:01:12, 1] smbd/password.c:register_vuid(345) >> Failed to claim session for vuid=100 >> >> >> this appears to be a big issue for me....i think i may have to return >> to 2.2.5 unless someone has some suggestions.... >> >> what additional information do you need? unfortunately i hadn't the time >> to test this under the load we have now....sorry guys.... >> >> >> Bill >> >> -- >> To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the >> instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba >> > >-- >To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the >instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba
