I am not sure if this is a related problem but if it is I wanted to share
what I am experiencing.
I have a Samba PDC (Red Hat 7.3 and Samba 2.2.3-x) and about 15 Windows2kPro
SP2 computers that connect to this PDC. Each computer maps a Home drive to
drive letter Q:. I have noticed that if I copy files out to this Home drive
that the drive in My Computer will acquire a Red X through it signifying
that the drive is not available. This does not have an effect for me
however as I can still use the drive normally. It just always has a red X
through it.
If this is fixable I'd appreciate anyone who knows how. I've noticed this
same behavior when a Win2kPro machine has a share and the browsing computer
will obtain a Red X after some period of time. So this is most likely a
Windows problem or a combination of the Windows and Samba.
