I am using Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (the latest). After I updated using the update manager the samba suite to the most current packages, nmbd refuses to start. I tried it manually, /usr/sbin/nmdb -D but it does nothing, (doesn't show up in the process list). Could this update be broken?
