Hi All, I wonder if any one can help me, I have samba installed and seems to be running fine I can access SWAT from any of the windows clients on my home network. However I cant seem to access the share I have set-up. I ran through the troubleshooting pages of using SAMBA (book published by O'Reilly) it looks to me as if the nmbd daemon isn't running, I confirmed this looking at the status page in swat and by using ps -ef |grep nmbd. Even trying to run it by hand, it doesn't actually seem to run, trying the command server% nmblookup -B xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx '*' resulted in the answer below Added interface ip=255.255.255.255 bcast=255.255.255.255 nmask=255.255.255.255 sending Queries to 255.255.255.255 Hot a positive reply name query response from 192.168.1.20 (192.168.1.20) Needles to say I have no machine on the network with an ip of 255.255.255.255. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. MerryXmas to one and all Adrian |
