Is it possible to use Linux Samba with a Global File System and have all servers reading and writing the same files at the same time? I've heard that Samba maintains a small database that contains meta data type information that is not communicated to other Samba servers. And because Samba sits above the file system, GFS cannot guarantee it has correct information about the files. Does anyone know if this is true or if Samba runs in a stateless fashion?
