Hi all, Having a very strange problem here. I'm on RH9, using samba 3.0b3, cups 1.1.7, and a canon 1000sp printer. The printer itself doesn't matter. I've verified this on 2 seperate machines and I get the same problem. After reading everything there is...
I setup a printer in CUPS. A-ok. I setup a printer in smb.conf (printing section): --- [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba public = yes browseable = yes # Set public = yes to allow user 'guest account' to print guest ok = yes writable = no printable = yes printer admin = root, @ntadmins [print$] comment = Printer Drivers path = /etc/samba/drivers browseable = no guest ok = no read only = yes write list = root --- running cupsaddsmb -v tells me everything is A-ok. BUT, when I add the printer on Win2k, the drivers don't install. Perusing the samba logs shows it reading the driver files. I don't have access to those logs right now.. but rpcclient says something funny when it finishes: result was WERR_UNKNOWN_PRINTER_DRIVER Here's the whole output set with -d 3: added interface ip=192.168.160.140 bcast=192.168.160.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Connecting to host=printproc share=IPC$ Connecting to 127.0.0.1 at port 445 Doing spnego session setup (blob length=58) got OID=1 3 6 1 4 1 311 2 2 10 got principal=NONE Got challenge flags: Got NTLMSSP neg_flags=0x20830205 NTLMSSP: Set final flags: Got NTLMSSP neg_flags=0x20000205 lsa_io_sec_qos: length c does not match size 8 [Windows NT x86] Printer Driver Info 3: Version: [2] Driver Name: [Canon] Architecture: [Windows NT x86] Driver Path: [\\printproc\print$\W32X86\2\cupsdrvr.dll] Datafile: [\\printproc\print$\W32X86\2\Canon.ppd] Configfile: [\\printproc\print$\W32X86\2\cupsui.dll] Helpfile: [\\printproc\print$\W32X86\2\cups.hlp] Monitorname: [] Defaultdatatype: [RAW] result was WERR_UNKNOWN_PRINTER_DRIVER ????? Everything LOOKS ok. But it doesn't work. I've tried this on 2 RH9 machines...
