There is an implicit mapping between WINDOWS\pquinney and the unix account pquinney (if you are not running winbindd).
I did just fix a bug relating to this when Samba was a domain member of an AD domain. Everythgin else should have been ok to my knowledge.
| I'll give winbind a try.
Better option IMO.
