Hello, Excuse me for my English. I use an impression (not yet;) and file server samba 2.2.5 on a red hat 7.2.
I try to print starting from a station under Windows 2000 but I obtain the error "the handle is invalid". I installed the drivers for my impimante on the W2000 station but I would like to also know if the drivers of the printer are necessary for the W2000 workstation AND the Linux server. Printer: Optra T614 Here is a part of my smb.conf workgroup = test netbios name = PDC-SRV server string = Samba Ldap server interfaces = 127.0.0.1 7.7.7.2/255.255.255.0 encrypt passwords = Yes passwd program = "/usr/local/sbin/smbldap-passwd.pl -o %u" passwd chat = *New*password* %n\n *Retype*new*password* %n\n *all*authentication*tokens*updated* unix password sync = Yes log file = /data/samba/log/log.%m log level = 2 max log size = 5000 socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 domain logons = Yes os level = 80 preferred master = False domain master = True dns proxy = No wins support = Yes domain admin group = " @"Domain Admins" " printer admin = " @"Users" " [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba printable = Yes browseable = No guest ok = Yes use client driver = yes And my /etc/printcap : lexopt614:\ :ml=0:\ :mx=0:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lexopt614:\ :af=/var/spool/lpd/lexopt614/lexopt614.acct:\ :sh:\ :lp=|/usr/share/printconf/util/jetdirectprint:\ :lpd_bounce=true:\ :if=/usr/share/printconf/util/mf_wrapper: Thank you in advance.
