Thanks for the reply. That is the impression that I was getting too. So as an alternative to no domains, I figure I will create a domain but not join any machines to that domain. As a test I have setup a windows domain with a share. Then mapped a non domain member machine to that domain's share. I was able to ctrl-alt-del and change the password.
So now I have been trying replicate this with samba. So far already tried this with 2.2.7 and didn't work..... So now I'am going to try it with 3.0.2a.
