Did you ever resolve this problem? I am having it as well? (Samba 3.0.2a) I get it when people try to print (from their windows boxes) The print then fails
It seems to be a problem with a corrupt .tdb file for the printer. Stop Samba, remove the file (in /var/samba/printing) and restart samba.
