I was advised only a week ago by the guy setting up our new server that we should not do this, so the new domain set up has a different name to any of the workgroups. He said we would have lots of problems if the domain has the same name as a workgroup. Do you have any pointers to where I can find out about these issues ?


This is with Samba 2.2.5-suse, part of their SLOX package - I'm 'in discussions' with them about the issues of changing it to Samba 3.
