Ok, think I got a solution for u, because I figured out the same problem and it took me very long to hear on the lists opinion... ;-)
I got the following configuration on the pdc: <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<PDC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> wins support = Yes wins hook = /usr/local/bin/dns_update wins partners = 192.168.10.2 192.168.10.3 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<PDC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> and on the bdc: <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<BDC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> wins server = 192.168.10.1 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<BDC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Search for the dns_update-script, you'll find in in the docs. (/usr/share/doc/samba-3.0.4/examples/wins_hook/ on my system) That will help u keeping ur dns up to date for use with wins-emulation... After u configure the wins on all ur windows clients and u'll see all ur problems are blown with the wind... Greetings Sascha Am Montag, 31.
