I opened a bug report on it a little while back, but it's not even been looked at by the developers, near as I can tell. Here's the link to my bug report:

errors.TheHowdy,
I recently obtained a Dell Axim X30, running Windows Mobile 2003 SE. It
totally refuses to connect to a Samba share due to authentication
share is set up with clear text passwords and functions perfectly witha
Win98 SE box. I have tried encrypted passwords and nt status support= no
errorsin the global section of my smb.conf.
I am running Debian unstable, Samba 3.0.7-1.
Searching the list archives, I found that others had reported similar
back in August 04. What's the status of this problem?
Solved on my end. I used a proprietary shareware program called PocketLan and
I was able to connect to my samba share w/o problems. The native networking
software included with Windows Mobile 2003 continues to fail. Obviously, that
sucks.
If I can help with this via diagnostics, log files or whatever, I'll be glad
to do so.
